OMONYE PHILLIPS
OP_SEEN.png

Omonye Phillips, is a wife, mother of two, and at the age of 32 one of the youngest top executives in a Fortune 500 company as a Divisional Vice President at Rite Aid Pharmacy. Omonye is a respected leader in the industry for being a dynamic leader and a top pharmacy executive. Although these accolades alone may seem enough to deem her a changemaker in business -- current executive role with the 3rd largest retail pharmacy in the country and in charge of overseeing the operations of 180+ stores and managing a budget in excess of $2B, while being a dedicated and committed wife and mother--she is more in the making.  Omo, a woman of many talents, has dedicated countless hours to other business, service, and philanthropy efforts all focused on improving the lives of others. One business initiative that is near and dear to her heart is an initiative that is focused on providing a hub of support for young professionals that want to network with like-minded individuals and brainstorm on growth opportunities and support one another in stretching beyond their comfort zone.  That initiative is My Dream BIG Club (MyDBC) and in the span of two years, it has witnessed a global expansion with meetings being held in Africa and Europe- more specifically, Lagos, Nigeria and London, UK.

MyDBC has a membership that includes professionals in the fields of medicine/dentistry, science and technology, education, athletics, business and law, among others, and is quickly becoming the hub for young professionals that are interested in growing and developing through Encouraging, Uplifting and Strengthening others.

Omonye is a firm believer that as a man thinketh, so he is and one can do anything that one trains their mind to do. Omonye's brand is centered around dreaming BIG - to the extent that she’s been referred to as the Dream BIG Queen. She is a big advocate of vision boards or dream manifestation boards as she calls them; putting down your desires, goals, wants on paper and visualize them on a daily basis. She’s always looking for ways to challenge and stretch her mind, with one of her most recent challenges being training for and completing her first marathon in October 2019, while assuming her new role as a Regional Vice President and planning the first major conference for MyDBC which included highly esteemed speakers, has been covered in Crain’s Detroit Business and drew a crowd of  200+ young professionals.  Omonye has shown and continues to prove that she can execute and perform well under pressure, and fortunately she does not limit her efforts in helping others in the pursuit of her own development and personal business goals.

Omonye comes from a diverse academic background having studied in three different continents including Africa, Europe and North America. She is a graduate from the University of Michigan and holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  Omonye enjoys reading, engaging in transformative discussions, spending time with her kids, running, playing table tennis, sleeping, traveling and anything fashion related.

My Dream BIG Club is one of many of Omonye's formal initiatives, but she also serves as a formal and informal mentor to students and young professionals interested in pharmacy. She sits on the Alumni Board of Governors at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She is also an active member in her church and the community through philanthropy and volunteer efforts.
